This recipe is for a general homemade herbal cream. You can customise it using different herbal oils, essential oils and carrier oils depending on the result that you’re aiming for.
What you will need
- Rose water or distilled water – 100 ml
- Carrier oil (coconut oil, almond oil, herb infused oil) – 75 ml
- Beeswax – 15 to 30 grams
Note: Use less beeswax if you want to prepare the cream with thin consistency or more when you want a thick cream
- Essential oils (if required)
- Sterilized glass jars
- Mixer
- Double boiler
Steps to prepare:
- Melt beeswax and carrier oil in the double boiler.
- Pour the melted mixture into a mixer and let it cool. Once it cools, it will become cloudy.
- Run the mixer at high speed and pour the rose water or water into the jar. (If the jar feels hot, stop the mixer for some time and start again. Because, if the beeswax and oil melt again, the mixture will lose its consistency).
- Once the mixture becomes thick and stiff, stop the mixer
- Add 1 or 2 drops of the essential oil
- Use a spoon to transfer the mix from the jar to glass containers
- Cool and store in a dry place
